San Francisco Nearly Destroyed by Earthquake after Massive Pro Abortion Rally
Psalm 9:17
The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
God’s Final Warning to America
This is another posting which links national sin and organized rebellion with God’s judgment-warnings to America. This is an incredibly powerful earthquake warning about abortion. I want you to understand that not all the judgments are focused on homosexuality.
To see all my postings in this series, go to the menu on the right and find search: put in God’s Final Warning to America and the links will come up. I have over a 100 links with the greatest disasters, so it is going to take time to get them posted. I want EVERYONE to be able to see the links with their own eyes. God is using nature to warn America of its final judgment for violating His word.
OCTOBER 1989
On October 12, 1989, the nation’s newspapers had headlines that the United States House of Representatives had provided funds to pay for a poor woman to obtain an abortion. On this same day, the Florida Legislature refused to pass any laws restricting abortions. The Florida Legislature’s failure to pass laws restricting abortion was very significant. Earlier in the year, on July 3, 1989, the Supreme Court in Webster v Reproductive Health Service ruled that states could restrict abortion.
Florida was the first state to attempt to make substantial restrictions of abortion, and the governor had promised he would sign into law any restrictions the legislature passed. The Florida Legislature was being watched by the entire nation, and what happened in Florida had national implications. The failure of the legislature to pass any restrictions was a significant pro-abortion victory. Immediately following these pro-abortion victories, on October 13, 1989, the Stock Market again crashed. The market fell 190 points in one day for a loss of seven percent. Actually, the crash occurred in just one hour at the end of the day. At that time, it was the 12th greatest crash in history.
Two days later, on October 15, 1989, the governors of 10 states urged the Supreme Court to strike down an Illinois state law restricting abortion. The governors signed a friend-of-the-court brief claiming, the law would impose “extremely burdensome requirements on abortion clinics.” The governors were from Colorado, Vermont, Maine, Michigan, Ohio, Alaska, New York, Massachusetts, Washington, and Oregon.
Also on October 15, 1989, a huge pro-abortion rally took place in San Francisco. The crowd was estimated at 50,000. The San Francisco Chronicle reported the rally on a front page article titled, “Huge Abortion-Rights Rally In SF.” The paper reported the rally was festive and came in the aftermath of several recent pro-abortion victories. In describing the rally, the paper stated,
“Marching to a pounding drum and chanting, Hear our voice we’re pro-choice, yesterday’s crowd gathered at City Hall after passing cheering supporters lined up along Market Street.”
The center of the rally was City Hall where many pro-abortion politicians addressed the crowd. The politicians included Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer both of whom were later elected as Senators from California.
Just two days after this festive rally, celebrating the killing of innocent children in the womb, a powerful earthquake struck near San Francisco. This quake named, Loma Prieta, was 7.1 magnitude, and it was the fifth most powerful last century to hit America. This quake actually struck during a baseball World Series game and was broadcast live to the nation. Literally, millions of Americans watched as the earthquake shook San Francisco. Although the earthquake was extremely powerful, miraculously very few people died.
Ironically, the San Francisco Chronicle, reporting on the effect of the quake, said that City Hall was shaken so terribly that people fled the building screaming in terror. The paper reported,
“At City Hall in San Francisco a radio reporter told listeners, ‘the entire building started to shake…you could hear people yelling and screaming all over the building.’”
The very center of the festive, pro-abortion rally became, just two days later, a center of terror and fear!
The damage caused by the Loma Prieta earthquake caused San Francisco’s City Hall to close in 1995. The building needed to be restored and strengthened. The project took four years and $293 million to complete. The building reopened on January 2, 1999. There were 600 rubber and stainless steel bumpers installed underneath to help the building withstand a future earthquake up to a magnitude 8. The very center of the pro-abortion rally had to be condemned because the earthquake damage then cost the $292 million to restore and strengthen.
“History almost repeated itself in 1989, when another earthquake subjected City Hall to peak ground acceleration of up to .10 gravity forces. The signature 302-foot-tall dome twisted on its steel frame like a cap on a bottle. Cracks in the walls and concrete floor slabs occurred at all levels. While the building was never in danger of collapsing, Structural Engineers determined that its seismic resistance had to be improved or the structure would not withstand the next big quake”
These pro-abortion victories were followed two days later by the stock market crash. The huge pro-abortion rally in San Francisco and the pro-abortion statement by the governors were followed two days later by the fifth most powerful earthquake last century. The stock market crash and then the earthquake hitting the very location of the rally were not coincidences. They were powerful warnings that the killing of children in the womb has America on a collision course with God.
