    John,
joined a new church about a year ago, it was using the NIV, and I bought one. We left the church about 4 months ago after finding out they were teaching comtemplative prayer in my wife’s “Bible” study. The NIV’s just hit the garbage can. We still used our KJV’s at home, but I don’t even want it in the house anymore. Somehow the verses do seem more comforting when they are verbatim to how you memorized them as a kid.

    Hello John Mcternan:
    KING JAMES BIBLE:
The NKJV has that “brokenhearted” verse in it. Regarding the KJB – I agree that could be one possible reason that what you say about other impoverished nations are blessed because of the use of KJB and not one of the other translations. Also, it could be that the people in this country don’t believe they are demon possessed. If demons existed back in Jesus’ days, then where did they all go? Did they just disappear? No, they are still here today. Problem is people are brainwashed by the medical/psychiatric business that tell them to take drugs to cure all their problems. Most sicknesses/addictions are demon related. People don’t believe in demons/casting them out. They need to be cast out in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH.

There are other scriptures that I notice in other translations that are wrong or I don’t agree with. For example: Matthew 17:16 –20(NLT), where Jesus heals a demon-possessed boy –

16 So I brought him to your disciples, but they couldn’t heal him.”17 Jesus said, “You faithless and corrupt people! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.”18 Then Jesus rebuked the demon in the boy, and it left him. From that moment the boy was well.19 Afterward the disciples asked Jesus privately, “Why couldn’t we cast out that demon?”20“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible”.Some manuscripts add verse 21, But this kind of demon won’t leave except by prayer and fasting. Compare Mark 9:29.

In 17:20 NLT Jesus says “you don’t have enough faith” That is wrong. In KJV – says Because of your unbelief. Unbelief cancels out faith. Unbelief comes in many forms so you need to be aware.

Matthew 17:19-21, “Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”

God has given us authority over demon spirits, and along with authority comes responsibility. We were not given authority over demon spirits and told to cast them out for no reason! People need to use their authority!

    Revelation 22:18-19
    A Warning
18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

  4. Joe says:

Yes the original King James is Gods work, I tell people that say they do not like the KJV is I do not care what version you read , God has to reveal this to you , and if you are not born again you will not understand the bible anyway so the version dosent matter , the KJV is like poetry so you should read the KJV it’s beautiful , and if you pick up the bible just to see what it has to say you will never understand it. You have to ask God to help you and read it with the right attitude that you know nothing and forget about all the garbage you been thought and ask God to revel it to you. “Narrow is the path that leadeth to eternal life and few there be that find it” So to sum this up tell your friends it doesn’t matter what version of the bible you read if you are not saved you cannot understand any version, you can give the bible to 10 people and if there not born again each one will come up with a different way to get to heaven , you have to know the author Jesus Christ, then He will revel it to you. Again the KJV is the only one as far as I’m concerned and I thing God also.

  5. When Jesus was manifested in the flesh he read the words found in the Book of Luke. These words are not the same as in the book of Isaiah; for he spoke these words:

(The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he hath anointed me to preach the
gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal
    the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance
to the captives, and recovering of sight to
the blind, to set at liberty them that are
    bruised,)

The following words are not the same as above:

    (THE Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me;
because the LORD hath anointed me to
preach good tidings unto the meek; he
hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the
opening of the prison to them that are
    bound;)

The Lord himself is the author of his book. He declared all the counsel of the thoughts of his heart from the beginning, he pronounced every word perfectly with his lips, he wrote and preserved every jot and tittle for all generations so that every person can know with certainty the words of truth. Therefore when Jesus read the words found in Luke, he fulfilled scripture which Adam knew would happen some 4,000 years before.

    Isaiah 46:9,10; Psalm 33:11; Genesis 11:1; Zephaniah 3:9, Psalm 12:6,7; 89:34; Proverbs 22:20,21; Hebrews 12:2; Acts 26:14; Romans 3:1-4; Psalm 68:11; Proverbs 30:5,6; Matthew 5:19; Hosea 8:12; Matthew 4:4.

    Gary,

Good decisions. The orignal KJV is all any English speaking person ever needs in a Bible. It has stood the test of time and been blessed by God. Stay with it! And stay with a church that uses it.

  7. B. Ross says:

As for this Bill O’Reilly, he is Catholic and does NOT believe in the Holy Bible that it IS the Word of God! He claims, and has stated numerous times on his program, that the Bible is allegorical and not literal. He does not believe that “all scripture is given by inspiration of God (II Tim. 3:16). He does not believe in Creation as stated in Genesis, he says that ‘science’ has proved the Genesis account of Creation wrong. Nor does he believe in the story of Jonah being in the belly of the whale. He says that also is just allegorical and is there just to teach us a lesson and compares it to a parable. However, he forgets the words of Jesus Christ himself, “For as JONAS WAS three days and three nights IN THE WHALE’S BELLY; so shall the Son of man be three days and threee nights in the heart of the earth” (emphasis mine), (Matt. 12:40). Jesus Christ himself said it was so! I will believe HIM!

I have e-mailed O’Reilly concerning his remarks on the Bible and just as I had expected,…no response.

He has written a book on ‘Killing Lincoln’ and ‘Killing Kennedy’, now he is about to publish a book of ‘Killing Jesus’. I warned him against the publishing of this book and his making a mockery of the ‘CRUCIFIXION of Christ’. Shame on him! To refer to the death of Jesus as just a ‘killing’! O’Reilly will pay dearly for the publication of this book.

For those of us who are in Christ,…STAY in CHRIST! Time is of the essence. Keep yourself grounded in his word; there will be no one else to blame if you do not!

May God bless you and keep you all, safe and secure.

    • JohnMcTernan says:

Wow, thanks for all the information and your effort with O’Reilly.
I really do fear for him because he is treading in dangerous spiritual ground and totally blind.

  8. Ryan Thomas says:

    Hi Monika, Very insightful post.
I know very well that demons are still at work. Here’s just one example.
Recently, I was talking about the scriptures with a man and women, another women came up, knelt down in front of me, and said ” I know who Jesus is, but who are you.” Immediately I flipped to the Psalms, and started reading one after the other, out loud, until she started getting up. She started walking slowly away, head tipped down, and her hand on her forehead . When she was about 15 ft away, her head snapped back, and it looked like someone through her to the ground. But there was no one near her.
As we ran over to her, I was praising God, because I knew she had just been set free from some nasty.
She opened her eyes, and we helped her up. Then she something I’ll never forget. She said in a subdued, and apologetic way,” I didn’t know I was that bad.”
She became a born again saint, praise and glory to the most high God.
    Love to you.

My Dearest John, you could not of chosen better words as you described the “bruising battle” of standing for the KJV bible. That’s where suffering for Christ’s sake comes in.(All who are in Christ will suffer persecution)It is the ONLY version I can say that holds the “POWER OF THE LIVING GOD”.My very first letter to you in the mail told of what God revealed to me about (Isaiah 14 V 12 & how the niv says Lucifer is the morning star cast out of heaven,But the KJV tells in (Revelation 2 V 26-29)that “Christ is the Morning Star” given to us if we overcome as he did.(V.28)Man sure has a way of steering away from the truth.
Ever since I have found your teachings(an answered prayer) about 7 months ago now I have not ceased to pray for you & this ministry of truth also for all the brothers & sisters I’ve found here.I will continue to support such a BOLD STAND FOR WHAT’S RIGHT MINISTRY!!!! God Bless You!!.
    Julia

    • JohnMcTernan says:

I am always so delighted that my ministry is such a blessing to you.
What happens in these “bruising battles” is God always teaches me truth.
When the attack comes against the word of God, He always shows me what the truth is in response.
This is the major way for me to grow in knowledge to defend the faith.
I am really sad for those that reject the KJB and read these modern weak translations.
      God bless you.

  10. Debra Lukas says:

I work at Lowes and had to work on Sunday. I had a lady come into my line and she told me that today was just another day and Easter means nothing to her. It put such an emotional pain in my heart as soon as she said that. I have never felt anything like that.
Her daughter does celebrate Easter with her two kids and this lady was not very happy about it. Thank God that her daughter lives out of state.
Its so sad to see all these people shopping on Easter and then some of them say I’,m sorry to shop today and you have to work.
    Debra Lukas- Mich

  11. Monika says:

    Ryan,
That’s awesome and you didn’t even touch her! Good thing she didn’t get hurt when the demons came out of her.

  12. Janine says:

John, is the Holy Spirit restraining Satans paper, and when the Holy Spirt and the christians in the rapture are taken from the earth, the man of sin will be revealed? I see then why you say to look for the blessed hope, not the antichrist because the rapture will occur before the antichrist is revealed!

JUST IN FRIM MIKE EVANS – JERUSALEM PRAYER TEAM!

I have just received what is frankly a terrifying update on the Iranian nuclear threat to Israel, and I had to share it with you immediately as a matter of urgent prayer. The Obama Administration has been pushing the notion that there is still plenty of time to stop Iran from building a nuclear weapon. This was the focus of much of the president’s meeting with my dear friend Prime Minister Netanyahu on Mr. Obama’s visit to Israel.

However, there is another Iranian nuclear option that could give the mullahs of Tehran atomic weapons not in months or years, but in just a few hours! Most of Iran’s missile technology is based on the work done by China and North Korea. With the escalating crisis in Korea and the world boycott, a few analysts are studying the possibility of Iran buying already completed nuclear weapons from North Korea that would fit on Iran’s existing missiles and be ready for use immediately.

It is impossible to overstate how serious this threat is. When North Korea successfully conducted its third nuclear test a few weeks ago, top Iranian nuclear scientists were present as observers. Iran has billions in oil wealth, and North Korea desperately needs the money to feed its starving people and build up its military forces. The warheads could be placed on a cargo plane and flown to Iran in a matter of hours. Once there, they could quickly be assembled and Iran would have ready-to-use nuclear weapons. This is a match made in hell…and it poses a danger to Israel that is being completely overlooked by most of the world.

Today I am asking you to pray urgently and fervently for the peace of Jerusalem and the protection of Israel. The world may be complacent about this danger, but we cannot afford to be. And I am asking for your generous financial help to support the Jerusalem Prayer Team as we stand with the nation of Israel and the Jewish people.

I was in a Christian bookstore that mainly sold new translations of the Bible. King James not so much. So I decided to shop for them at 2nd hand stores and the Goodwill. Found good ones for cheap.

  15. Ryan Thomas says:

Hi Henry, Is this the same Mike Evans that the Holy Spirit guided, and lead to sit across the press conference table from Yaser Arafat back some years ago?
If it is, he can be trusted, a man in touch with The Lord.
My prayers are with the Israel government that they make the right decisions.

  16. Ryan Thomas says:

Hi Monika, I never lay my hands on, because it’s not me doing it, but the power of the Holy Spirit. I never go looking for demons eigther. But The Lord knows I am always available , to speak His Word, and stand in faith in Him. He takes care of the details, including the safety of all of us involved.
These things move so fast, that we are no match for them, except by the armor of light, help from the Holy Angels, Gods word, and the power of The Holy One.
Everyone remember, keep building your personal relationship with Jesus.
    Love to you.

  17. Richard Ditty says:

I have done a little bit of research on the various translations and it apears that the translators of the NIV used the NU-Text for thier translation. It is an older text but is questionable. The king james was translated from the M-Text or (Majority Text). It is clear that Luke 4:18 quotes Isaiah 61:1 and the oldest copies of the Isaiah text read “to bind up the brokenhearted” including the isaiah scroll found with the dead sea scrolls. It is clear that the translators of the NIV should not have used that manuscript since it clearly misquotes isaiah 61:1 in luke 4:18.
