Once again, thank you for putting all the headlines together. The tension in the air is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

Although I have been keeping up with the news, I’m a little behind in my studying of it. My mother had a heart attack on Thursday and I have been spending 12-14 hours at the hospital every day. So right now I am living on fumes and mostly faith. She is in the hands of the Great Healer.

    God Bless and Maranatha

Obama is under personal judgment, what a reprobate.

  3. Barbara in VA says:

Irene: Praying for your mother and for you!

  4. Norman says:

“And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.” (Mt 12:49-50)

  5. Norman says:

Last week, you ran a feature on a website that encourages adulterous liaisons, and reported on its uptake locally. Solomon’s wise words came to mind: “Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.” However, he goes on to say “But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.”
How desperately sad to see this brazen advertisement for a pathway that will do untold harm, leading to hurt and heartache, especially to innocent children in this world – and worse in the life to come!
But there’s Someone who can fully restore our lost innocence, who was tempted in all things as we are, and who even said “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance”. He never fell Himself, yet He paid the redemption-price for any who come to Him, in His own blood.
How shall we escape if we spurn such an offer?
    Mr N ‘Agape’,

(Text of letter to a local English county-town newspaper – let’s see if its published. It brought home just how bad things have become. What a tragedy.)

  6. Lori says:

Just wanted to let you all know that my mom went to be with her savior and best friend Jesus today. I held onto hope that she would be healed, but Jesus had a different plan, he wanted His precious saint home with him in heaven. I honestly don’t know anyone personally that loved Jesus and sharing that love with anyone and everyone she came across in her life more than my dear mother. John, you would have loved my mother, she was not afraid to tell anyone about Jesus and getting right with him. She loved and only read the King James bible all of her life since being saved at 22 years old. For years she has worn a big size Jesus brooch so she could share her love for Jesus and tell of His great love and salvation. She would have been 88 on May 2nd. My heart is heavy now, but I know she no longer suffering and is thrilled to be with Jesus and other saved family member who have passed on many years ago. What a wonderful legacy she has left for her family to follow in her footsteps.
Irene, Just want to say I will pray for your mom’s recovery, and that it will bring glory to God, Lord bless you with His perfect peace that passeth all understanding.

    • JohnMcTernan says:

1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
Thanks for sharing this about your mother, a precious saint of the Lord.
1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

  7. Gary says:

I have seen a lot of dear, old, strong Christians who God has called home in the last few months, seemingly a lot more than “normal.” I have to say, it has crossed my mind if God is rewarding for them for their faithfulness, and bringing them home now so they can will be spared what is coming to this country for its sin and blatant disregard for His word. My spirit is very, very heavy about what we as a nation will be going through, and probably very soon. I will be praying that God will comfort you and your family, and that we will all be reunited soon

I will also be praying for your mother

Brothers and sisters, I am so ready to go home. The fight is so hard, but God will give all of us the strength to finish the race…Maranatha

  8. Mary E. says:

What a wonderful testimony of your Mother’s love for Jesus. Her life can be an example for us all. Jesus, will speak the words to her that we all long to hear, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
My prayers are with you and your Mother.
I have noticed the trend, too. What a merciful God we serve.

  9. anne says:

My heart has been so heavy lately. I can’t describe the despair and brokenness I’m going thru right now.
Prayers for healing would be so appreciated right now. The enemy is trying so hard and I know the end is so near…that’s why all the stops are being pulled out,I feel…

  10. Danielle says:

Lori ~ thank you for posting and my heart goes out to you. Tx to Brother John for those Words of comfort as well. Irene, I am lifting up your Mother for healing today and praying God will restore her health. Gary, I have had the exact same thought about The Lord taking so many home, and that it was because He wanted to spare them from all that is coming in the near future. I know we are not to be in fear, but I would be lying to say I am not a little nervous about how real it is all becoming for us now. Keep going, everyone … We are almost home !! Shalom 🙂

  11. Dan.w says:

It is hard to lose a loved one….but there is comfort in the arms of our Savior. What a blessing to know that our loved one is in heaven..for certain. We have something to look forward to…a reuniting with family not only once born, but born again. My prayers are with you both sisters…for the ones that left us,and for the ones still here.God bless all of you my friends/family……it won’t be long.

  12. Dan.w says:

As far as obama being under personal judgment…that seems to be still to come..I believe he is God’s judgment on us.We have left our first love[Jesus],and so not only America, but also the lukewarm church is being taken to task.I note the timing of all the nations, and their sabre rattling, the world unease……something is afoot…….something is in the air. This is not a note of death but one of hope.We are so much nearer to our Lord calling us up to meet Him in the air.It just seems so much nearer than at any point I can remember. What a purifying effect it has,[the blessed hope]on all of us who look for and wait for Christ. It is good to wait on the Lord.Let us be found with oil in our lamps.

  13. Pamela says:

Prayers for all who have lost loved ones and healing for the broken hearted.
    Blessings and peace,

  14. Byron says:

God love you Lori, we all be seeing your mother (& mine) soon, very soon. John brother, yes, a lot of pillars have gone Home, I took it a little hard when our brother Adrian & Boyce went Home. Also brother, you gave us all a scare when we learned! Truly the devil tried but lost. You can’t be going Home before us, your needed here by not only your immediate family but, your extended family of God, just don’t let the mass between your ear’s swell! Love ya, brother!
*On topic, we’re going to wake up one morning w/out power (all utilities) but you can bet your big toe nail the propagandizing media will be on auxillery telling the trolls all should be alright soon, if the unprepared trolls (people) can find batteries for their radio’s!
Remember, Barry did say to Vlad, he, (BO/Soetoro) would have more freedom after the re-insertion in Nov of 012!
*Notice – look who’s warning us about ufo’s, emp’s, $$ crash etc! The iLL looms have known for along time now that, if all else fails they’s pull the alien thing, aka Luciferean/demonic bluebeam holograms via HA^RP GWEN (c/into g.w.e.n. and how sinister this is, our pineal gland will receive this deception, the Lord created this gland for communications w/His own) & Pan – Dora’s Box deception!
The Lord (ANOCHI) laugh’s at all these freak’s! Everything they’ll do will be in vain, especially when they learn their god (Lucie) had deceived them in every way!!!!!!! These people do believe in god, just not the True GOD!
The loons have systematically destroyed this Nation, Jesus will Speak, they get smashed in the great wine press which ushers in the great feast of the Lord!!!!!!!
One thing about it, Lucie’s goons do read our mail, let alone everything else! The accuser (devil) will have plenty of am-mo to twist, so he can slander His (God) elect (at that time) BUT the Lord (EL SHADDAI) will let their Sinning works convict them eternally (Lake of Fire) where the designed Worm of there own making will progressively get worse as eternity goes on & on & on & on and on… !!!!!!!
We battle with evil being’s in high places, sometimes, I think, I willfully forget this. I’ve asked for forgiveness but still need to repent of this, the fruits of repentance is, stopping it. The Lord will Deal w/them, that’s not my job, thank God!
*Still think we can know, who many of these reprobates are though, again, knowing that they are already reprobated! Long life for these freak’s is truly a Curse! Remember the tour of Jerusalem the Lord took Ezekiel on? It’s these same scum at work today and in noway I’m anti semitic, we support (w/God’s money as steward’s) many ministries in Israel who are believer’s who’s (main) goal is Salvation!
*Am not babbling, has anybody noticed how on fire the Jew’s become when they know Jesus! When they read the New Testament it’s like they found hidden treasure, it’s awesome! Can anyone imagine 144,000 of these? Wow!

    Yes, the Church
    goes Home before
    Daniels week can get

  15. Tom says:

I’m terrribly sorry for the passing of your mother Lori. The sorrow and pain can never be truly soothed away with healing time or words of comfort. Your mother had lived a godly life on this brief whisper of exhistence while setting a standard of excellence in blessing others and praising God in her wake.

The Standards have now been passed on to you. You are now that Standard Bearer; hold that glorious flag and staff mightily and highly while blessing others and praising God for all to see and follow.

You have a tough time ahead of you Lori; it won’t be easy, but the Standards have already been set, now it’s your turn to lead the way. God Bless You!

    In His Service,

Putin tests your mettle, Ukraine’s at stake

He won’t stop! In the name of Glasnost
He want’s to see our country break apart

He won’t stop! in the name of Glasnost
Soon he’ll crown himself Russia’s new Tsar

Now Barry think it O-ver-er; really think it O-ver-er

My heart goes out to you, Lori and all who have lost loved ones. I feel exactly like all of you with every post I read. My heart has also felt heavy lately, and I’m ready to go home, although I know it is not on our timetable, but when the Lord tells us. peace to you all.

  19. Loretta says:

Editor of a Charity writes: The Christian community in Syria in the past weeks have undergone excruciating pain. The latest was the attack on Kessab, where rebel forces invaded from Turkey and slaughtered the Christians, forcing many of them to flee. Whole areas were overrun. Meanwhile the attacks on Aleppo, especially the Christian areas, continue unabated and with the international community and international media silent. Please pray that in the despair of their Calvary the glorious hope of the resurrection will shine through.
A Syrian Christian writes to Editor:-
I am so grateful to hear and have such supporting prayer partner who shares my agony with my nation and society.
Regarding our news here for today, 17th April (Syria’s Independence Day), it is so disastrous and very terrible if not horrible.
Since last night and from 5am early morning, lot of fight and explosions, rockets and shells and bombs. Today morning at 8.30, 8.35 and 8.45am, three major explosions by the rebels from the underground which shook and shocked whole Aleppo as if an earthquake of 4.8-5.2 on the Richter scale.
Till now, and from three directions and axes, the rebels are trying to invade the Christian and Armenian areas and regions. So far, more than 120-130 rockets and mortars have been hitting our quadrants.
No one in the streets. No shop is open, or hard to find some. The army is controlling our areas and not allowing people to move around. No single car moves around as well.
Everyone is hidden at his house or office. Everything is standstill, as if you are in a dead city.
This is our second besieged time. Now it is more than a week. No one is allowed to come in or get out of Aleppo. Nothing in the market to buy. No fruit. No vegetables. Fuel has increased to six times today.
Your intercessory prayers are highly valued and needed.
Let us hope and throw all our burdens upon Him who has already taken the main.
    Lord’s grace (Name of Writer)
    Let us remember them.

  23. Dan.w says:

I was keeping up with you Byron…up until that big toenail thing…..Now where did I leave my clippers.

  24. Dan.w says:

Thank you brother John for this blog………….by the way,how ya feelin?Anyhoo,I wanted to encourage everyone here not to give in,not to give up.When we feel weak, surrender to Christ. He leads the charge.History,[HIS-story].It has been,is now,and will in the future be all about Him.The Bible is not babble,no confusion in its ranks,Jesus the giver of life, love, truth……………and satan just has pranks.God has a plan, the devil wants to crush man…but at the Cross, evil was given the boot……………though Christ was the second Adam…He was really the root.

  25. Mary E. says:

Norman, thanks for posting the letter from the Syrian Christian. It is heartbreaking, something we here in the states can’t even imagine. Yes, we must remember the Christians who are suffering under muslim rule.

To all the prayer warriors on this blog, I ask for prayer for my brother, Dave. He is in hospital and was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. He is in extreme pain and the meds Dr.’s are trying are not working. Dave is a strong Christian, but he is being overwhelmed with fear over the situation. I would appreciate your prayers for him.

  26. Lori says:

Thank you everyone for your heartfelt kind words, they help ease my pain. It’s been rough these last two days, but I have to keep remembering God’s beautiful word. John, I love those scriptures you shared, they are extremely comforting to me, and I will underline everyone of them in my bible. You’re all so kind to me with your words of comfort, I truly am blessed to have such good friends in Jesus….thank you again!! Lord bless you all.

  27. Irene C says:

I will be praying for your brother Mary E. Facing trials such as these is difficult, even for the most mature Christians. Physical ailments do bring us down, not only physically but often spiritually. Our Lord Jesus will be holding on to him during his weakest hours.

Update on my mother. She may get to go home today. They have had her up walking and she even managed to go up and down some stairs, albeit very slowly. As of now, they have her off the oxygen to see how she does. So she’s doing pretty good for someone who is 92. Praise Jesus, the Great Healer, and His Miracles.

    God Bless and Maranatha

  28. Danielle says:

Mary ~ prayed for your brother just now .. That Jesus will bring peace to him, and take away his pain . Lori, you are welcome and yes, it is great to have a family here who loves God and will cover you with prayer! Just prayed for the believers in Syria .. cannot imagine living with rockets going off everywhere and the city you once lived in , being at a complete standstill ! Thanks to Dan & Joni , Barbara, Irene, B. Ross , Norman and all of you for your wonderful posts and prayers. I am looking for the Blessed Hope with all of you … Keep exhorting daily (Hebrews 3:13) ~ Hold fast … He will be here soon. Forever His, Danielle

  29. Joni says:

@Mary E, please go to a Health Food store ASAP. Pick up a package of Sacchromycees Boulardi (Florastor is good) for your brother Dave. He only needs one a day. First off, it will protect him from the superbug, C-DIFF, and he is a prime candidate right now, sadly enough. His current colon health, (or ill health) the hospital environment, and possible IV antibiotics will destroy his gut flora, its all the right combination to bring the bug on. Florastor is a probiotic, a yeast, and its safe to take, and even should be taken along with any antibiotics he is on. There are studies that it helps Colitis also. It cleans up the bad guys in the stomach. Please bring him in some GOOD YOGURT if he can handle it, full of the good probiotics.
PLEASE, trust me…he is very vulnerable and c-diff is a nightmare, I was infected in Feb with it, but with God’s help, I was led to the complete cure, and the cure is NOT MORE ANTIBIOTICS. If you need more info, about obliterating it, if by chance it befalls him, plz contact John for my contact info and I will tell you how to get rid of it for good.
    I will be praying…
    God Bless us all,

  30. Dan.w says:

Father God,I pray for all my brothers and sisters here, and around the world.Lord,we need your wisdom, guidance and protection from the enemy.I thank you for your mercy in saving and keeping us.Please reach my friends here, and touch them where they live. Each one has a need only you can fill.We trust and love you Lord.I thank you Father that we are allowed to share in your kingdom work. Most of all, thank you for Jesus. The longer I live, the more I see my unworthiness, and see your Holiness.

  31. Mary E. says:

Thank you for the advice, I will take it seriously. My brother lives in a different state than I, but I will pass the info to him, or better yet, his wife. I agree with everything you have posted and may contact you in the future. Thanks to everyone for the prayers. God bless this group.

Irene, I am so happy to hear of your Mother’s progress, will keep praying.

  32. Norman says:

For the encouragement of all: 1 Peter 3:8-18:

“Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:”

Corporately, and in spirit, there’s such a loving generous spirit here, with faithful obedience to the Word, and emphasis on prayer: a picture of the Bride – “While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.” (see vv .2-4)

  33. Norman says:

PS: Compare Christ’s Bride to that other woman, in Rev 17. Even the apostle John was taken in: ‘and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration’ (v. 6). Interesting – so reflects the natural man! But look with the eyes of the Bridegroom for His true one: ‘Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price’.

Did you hear that? OF GREAT PRICE IN THE SIGHT OF GOD! What a contrast; and what a comfort: and all the trials that we go through have their part to play – ‘As a lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters’ (Song 2:2). Praise God for all that He has done for us in Christ!

  34. Irene C says:

Here’s what I think is amazing (in my fallible mind). Here on this comment board we have a group of people who have most likely never met in person and probably never will while in this mortal body. Yet I can feel the power of the Holy Spirit flow through the words I read. I have laughed, cried, been provoked to thought and have been blessed. I have felt every prayer that has flowed through this site. We have rejoiced together, worshiped our Lord together, and together we eagerly wait for the return of our Bridegroom. To those who do not believe, I feel sorry for them. They will never know or feel this power and love that can truely heal the broken hearted. I love you all with a love that only those who understand, can understand.

Update on my mother – I am currently sitting here at the hospital awaiting her discharge papers. After things settle down, if anyone is interested, I will provide a testimony to God’s miraculous powers and love.

    God Bless and Maranatha

  35. Danielle says:

Yes, Irene ~ you said it all! Please post that Testimony soon 🙂 Be blessed everyone … Because He Lives !!

  36. Joni says:

@Irene, we would love to hear the miracle about your Mom. Please share.
    God Bless us all, Joni

  37. Dan.w says:

All of us here would love to hear your testimony. You are loved here in the Lord.

  38. Dan.w says:

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you; for him hath God the Father sealed. Then said they unto him,What shall we do,that we might work the works of God?Jesus answered and said unto them,This is the work of God,that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. John 6;27-29

  39. Barbara in VA says:

Irene, how beautifully you have expressed how the Holy Spirit is working on this site. Yes, I am sure that we are blessed by the sharing of our thoughts, concerns, prayer needs and our love for Jesus and each other. It will be so exciting to meet each member of this special “congregation” at the wedding banquet!

    Also, please share your testimony!

    Hebrews 13:1 (KJV)
