Obama, the Hard Left and the media love to use their favorite word “democracy” in support of their agenda, including the Muslim Brotherhood. All it amounts to is mob rule via dictatorship. True democracy only works with people and leaders being responsible to the Rule of Law.

John, This is getting “scary” out there. What can we as American Christians do? My prayer has been that God would honor the promises that our founders pledged to Him. I have never seen so many Christians who now support our President and all that he stands for..I just keep remembering the Scripture Luke 18:8

    King James Version (KJV)
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

and it is getting to be so, that the answer is..not many true believers are left.

A couple of years ago I was reading through part of the Book of Isaiah. This was at the start of the Arab Spring. He led me to re-read Isaiah 19. I was amazed at what the Lord was showing me. I was sadden as I was listening to our media celebrating “democracy” for Egypt. We who have been studying Biblical prophecy slowly understand what is happening.

I pray for our brothers and sisters in the region. I also pray for the Egyptians that they come to know the saving Grace of our Lord. On the other hand, I pray O Lord Come. Maranatha

I found the BBC article below very perceptive. It explores the connection between faith and politics, in the context of Egypt, seen through the prism of 17th century British politics. (I always read into this, the foundation of grace that flowed from those who filled up the sufferings of Christ – the English Martyrs – in the previous century and before – people like Wycliffe, Tyndale, Ridley and Latimer.)
From the saints’ point of view, our role is to understand the times, to pray according to 1 Tim 2, and to bear witness to Christ as Saviour. All this was borne out to me this morning, as I read Psalms 79-82. Here, we see everything through the prism of God’s faithfulness towards Jacob, and the man [Man] of His right hand (Ps 80:17). And the cry in Ps 79:9) ‘Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name’s sake.’
Taking the long-view, what wonderful redemption underlies all these great and terrible events. And how privileged we are, to be able to see and understand, and be ambassadors for Christ in the present age. The time will come when the Jews will pray: ‘So will we not go back from thee; quicken us, and we will call upon thy name. Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts; cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. (Ps 80:18-19). That will also be the beginning of the healing of the nations, among them, Egypt. ‘Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth’.

And how about this graphic footage of the exodus from Syria. The refugees look in remarkably good shape, and surely worthy of our prayers. Agree with Irene at # 3.

The Lord is really moving in Africa as well as in Egypt.Believers there are being strengthened by persecution and hardship, and encouraged by our love for them.God has not forgotten them, and many are being saved and blessed.America may be steeped in shallow religion, but she still has a faithful remnant. We would do well to share in the persecuted churches sufferings and pray hard for them, and also to remember our blessings here and not let them make our hearts fat for the slaughter, but all the more bless the Lord in return, and use His blessings to help our bretheren worldwide.God is adding daily to His numbers, those who will be His…Let us rejoice in that.

  8. Just ran across these news items about events planned for 9/11/13, and plans by Billy Graham and other Christian leaders for November 2013:

Let’s pray that the true and living God show Himself as He did on Mount Carmel and as He did when both Israel and Judah faced formidable, hostile enemies.
