In regard to Illegal and prescription drugs. I live in Minnesota, It was reported recently that Minneapolis is now having a huge
heroine problem. I live in northern Minnesota, my son was an alcoholic and committed suicide nine years ago. My former son in law got hooked on pain killers after an industrial accident after trying treatment died of a drug overdose. My step daughter was hooked on meth….She went to Teen Adult challenge in MPLS ( this is a christian centered year long program) by God’s grace at this time she is not on any drugs although she has had relapses on her mothers pain pills and alcohol. She just had a friend that was in Teen Challenge with her, about a month ago she hung herself and was a that time a meth dealer. Our friend from church just recently had her son rob a liquor store…He was on heroin…It seems like an epidemic. We have a high suicide rate among our young people. At our bible study a mention I have a step daughter who is a lesbian, and the ladies mentioned their relatives who are homosexuals…I am so thankful for a praying Grandmother and Aunt who prayed for our whole family and their salvation as my Grandmother had three sons who were alcoholic and my Grandfather also was an alcoholic. Grandfather accepted Christ on his death bed…I have peace by being in Gods Word, prayer, praise.. Friends who pray for me and Church…

  2. Why is it that every time a sinner is saved by grace in the book of Acts – THEY ATTACK IT? In Acts 9:5,6: Paul is getting saved, and they take out 20 words. In Acts 16:31 when the Philippian jailor is getting saved, the word “CHRIST” is delicately removed. Why do these new bibles so fiercely attack God’s wonderful plan of salvation?

Thank you for bringing up Luke 4;18 brother John.I’ve been making it a point to get this truth out to other believers,I will gladly put a KJV in their hands free,or show by research how the other versions were used to take the hedge away from God’s people and to remove hope from the lost..when they need it most. The other day while sharing this info about Luke 4;18 with a fellow believer, the Lord later confirmed how important this was…and made sure when I left the job site,I turned on my Christian radio station, and a pastor spoke on that particular verse.I KNEW God was in it.I know my fathers voice…I hear it in the KJV. God bless you for everything you do,and hope you had some time with your family on fathers day.A fellow servant in Christ,Dan.w

I’m kind of disturbed by this article. What if I went off antidepressants (mood stabilizers) and had a bad relapse. It isn’t as easy as it sounds/seems in the article. I’m growing ion God’s word and hopefully going to be well mentally/emotionally. I want to work. I want to handle every day issues with strength and reserve from God but it would be self-destructive if I went off the meds like i did twice before. It’s just NOT that easy. It is very complicated. I know I should not be giving vitality to ‘mental illness’ but my experience tells me not to just ask the doctor to take me off these. He wouldn’t do it anyway. Then where would I be with no Dr, no disability payments, no health insurance, living in a room at my moms again or in the basement with the spiders snakes and mice? I fear the Lord I have faith and I trust the LORD but I better use common sense. Can we pray again soon. I WANT to get off the meds, work and pay bills but it will take time and adjustment. I am very torn about this and feeling helpless and powerless over the weight of feeling i must get off the meds if i really trust God and let him manage my mind/thought disorders.

    • JohnMcTernan says:

If someone is on the antidepressants for a time, they must come off with a doctors care or they could have a heart attack.
These are powerful and dangerous drugs.
Some people try and come off and end up.
Some people go into a rage trying to come off the drugs.
These are powerful and dangerous drugs.

  5. Craig Bathurst says:

My disabled daughter with multiple disabilities takes Diazepam when she has siezers that last longer than 5 minutes. it is very expensive. There is valid medical uses for this medication.

  6. Cynthia says:

After my son was killed in Afghanistan, I was under great pressure to go to the doctor and have him give me something to help. I knew what people were suggesting (get an anti-depressant). I went to see my doctor for another reason and he had learned what happened to my son and said “if you need me to give you something to help, just let me know”. I said no thanks. There is no pill in the world that can heal my broken heart, how could this be? My son is dead and a pill is going to make it all better? I knew better. I was getting it from everyone, friends, family, people I barely knew. “It will help you”, “you can’t get through this on your own”, “the doctor can help”, “there are very good medications out there now”…..I thank God that He gave me the strength to resist this temptation.

  7. Danielle says:

To my brothers & sisters in Christ ,
Just hearing your testimonies day by day and how God is bringing you through (not somehow – but VICTORIOUSLY) is so encouraging to me !! Thank you…
and, like I said before, KEEP GOING … We are almost home! Shalom 🙂

  8. Joni says:

Cynthia, can I just say, “you amaze me?”
I am a Purple Heart Mom, I could just have easily been a Gold Star Mom.
I have always believed that The Lord gave me that warning to pray, fast, 5 minutes before the blast in Iraq, for a few reasons.
    1. My son was not saved by faith.
    2. My sister had been brutally and violently murdered only 2 months prior, and
    3. The other 6 young men who lost their lives there while mine was the sole survivor, they were all saved by faith in Jesus. They were on their way to Heaven.
Obviously I cannot prove my thoughts on this, but I just seem to know it.
Now I still have time to pray for my boy to find Jesus.

I so admire your faith and your courage Cynthia.
    God Bless you,

    Dear John
Your radio show, Thursday 20th, was so wise and insightful. All the prayer, good music, comments , and fantastic teachings on the Psalms.
Can I add a prayer to it, that I thought of while listening to you guys ?
Holy father, please let us, who have asked your only begotten Son, to be our Lord, see the Holy Spirit act through us, and others near us see you act through us and around us too. Bringing glory to You, and joy to us.
Please open the eyes of Israel, your first born son, so they can make the connection between Hebrews 1: 3 and Psalm 119: 90-91.
And Father, lots and lots of woman have have given up a chance to come to the knowledge of You,by raising a child or children, because of abortion. Please don’t give up on them, if they are looking for You. In your name Jesus, amen.
Love to you, and all the saints.

  10. Marc W says:

Truly a (strong) indicator that we are fast approaching the time of King Jesus returning. The Holy Spirit allowed the Greek word “pharmakeia” to be used in at least two instances: Galatians 5:19-21 and Revelation 18:23. Some translations use “sorcery”.

I’m confident the percentage of drug use is greater – since 70 percent is the declared amount of prescription drugs. There’s also caffeine, nicotine and alcohol, as well as amounts reported as “illegal” drug use.

    Even so, come Lord Jesus!

  11. Pamela says:

All these wrenching testimonies are proof of the enemy’s stratedgy of attack. For the last few years I have been studying and practicing inner healing ministry and have seen amazing results. Much of our exposure to Satan’s plans against us are successful because we are in violation of God’s laws.

First, unforgiveness – holding aught against anyone. When we’re holding onto unforgiveness – we are held prisoner and are exposed to demonic forces – oppression, depression, anxiety, fear, etc.

Almost always, when we are wounded, after unforgiveness comes judgment and vows which are also violations of God’s spiritual laws…

I believe that we (within ourselves) are not able to come up with the measure of forgiveness we need to cover the horrific violations that have been done to us but JESUS IS!! And He will give it if we ask for it. Pray:

Father, It is my heart’s desire to fully and completely forgive ALL who have harmed or wronged myself and my loved ones. Within myself, I do not possess the forgiveness I need to cover all these things but I profess my willingness to forgive and release ALL justice to you. Please apply the measure of forgiveness I need and circumcise my heart unto you. I give you permission to purge me of all the unforgiveness and heal my broken heart.

Father, your word says we are NOT to judge others or make vows. I repent for judging other people – it violates your laws and I have sinned in taking your place as Judge of my fellow fallen man. Please forgive me and cover all my judgements with the blood of your precious Son Jesus and release me from the sowing and reaping of my judgments. Help me to walk forward in love.

Also Dear Father, please forgive me for making vows of how I will protect myself from the wounding of the world. You are my armor and my sheild. I look to you only for protection and safe guard. I repent for making vows of every kind and I ask you to revoke them and put them under the blood of Jesus. Please release me from their effects. Amen.

When we do this, Satan and demonic forces lose their access to torment and oppress us. Sometimes we need to do some deliverance work also, many substances come with spirits.

    God bless to all,

  12. Cynthia says:

Joni it is Brother John and all of you hear that give me the strength and courage to carry on. I come here everyday when I feel weak and weary and always leave renewed. It is Brother John’s daily reminder to stay focused and anchored in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that gives me the strength to carry on and the hope that this soon will pass. Joni, you inspire me and I will pray for your son.

  13. Cynthia says:

This is “off subject” for this particular topic, but “on subject” with your Israel teachings Brother John:

US cuts military aid to Israel by five percent:

  14. Barbara in VA says:

Cynthia–your faith in and love for our Lord and Saviour is so evident in your comments. Your witness is very powerful and brings much praise to our Heavenly Father!

Joni–you also have a tremendous witness showing God’s love and protection.

Pamela–what a wonderful prayer that covers the problem that so many have probably had at one time or another–that of the physical and mental illnesses that can result because of unforgiveness. I witnessed this in a close family member who harbored and dwelt on everything she thought someone had done to her. She lived to be 92, but suffered all kinds of illnesses (and I do mean suffered) her entire life. Even at an early age, I was able to make that connection between her suffering and her unforgiveness. Pamela, could I have your permission to quote from your prayer, perhaps publically?

I thank God for this site and for those who comment here–this has become my “church” family. God bless John and all those who comment!

  15. @Dana, I want to encourage you with 2 Corinthians 12: 8-9 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

God’s grace covers our weaknesses and God knows your heart. He sees your heart that you love Him and trust Him, He covers you with His grace whether you are on meds or not. The Lord loves you the same whether you are on meds or not.

With His grace He covers our weaknesses and in Him and through Him we are made complete.
Its the same grace that covers us in salvation and in the forgiving of those who deeply offend us.
    Love to you Sister!

Cynthia, Craig, Joni, Pamela, Nancy J. & all ~ I pray for this ministry and everyone on this board every day. I feel deeply for your heartaches. At some point, all of us come to a point where we have no place to go and no one to go to….except to Jesus. In our shattered, broken lives ~ God heals us. One day very soon we are going to be at Home with Him. The very prospect of this is all that keeps me going sometime. We also need to know we are loved and cared for by the people around us. You are.

Cynthia ~ ‘Just read the U.S. cutbacks to Israel. We do this to our detriment. If I were in charge I’d arm Israel to the teeth!! Not that they need outside help, but because I want to be on God’s side. Though we will see Israel surrounded & standing alone, God will keep watch over the apple of His eye. His eye is also on you. God bless all of you.

  17. Pamela says:

Yes! Please share this prayer however you will. I wish I could tell you how much good praying in this manner has done to “set captives free”. Thank you and God bless!

Is. 9:6… and He shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace…”

Victory, Victory, Victory!!! The sodomites parade in Wausau WI was called off by the leader because many in Wausau made an uproar but he thinks that the city is outdated in their thinking! May Jesus be magnified, glorified, lifted up on high all over this earth!!! Keep praying and cleaving to Jesus!

  20. Lisa says:

I completely agree with you, John. I know so many people around me on antidepressants, some with antipsycotics included. While I think they can serve a purpose, I also think they are HIGHLY over-prescribed. Ironically, I have just started Wellbutrin. I was diagnosed with MS 6 years ago. The disease is affecting the part of my brain that deals with emotion. The last couple of years have been a roller coaster ride of up and down depression and mood swings that have wreaked havoc on my family. Amazingly, with God’s grace, it hasn’t seemed to have “scarred” any of my kids and we are all still pretty tight and supportive of one another. I have fought against going on antidepressants for quite awhile, before my neurologist talked me into just giving Wellbutrin a try. My husband feels the same way I do about medication (probably even more adamantly than I do), and we talked about it and agreed to just try it out and if we didn’t like what was happening, I would go off of them. Plus, Wellbutrin was one of the few that we hadn’t heard a bunch of horror stories about from those around us. I’m about a month and a half in, and so far so good. My mood swings still come and go, but we have all definitely noticed that they’re coming farther and farther apart, and that’s wonderful! All the glory still goes to God! All that to say, yes, I agree with you, but there are definitely some legitimate cases…and I also realize that these drugs are way, WAY over-prescribed.

I also have an item of interest that is off-topic from this particular post, but I came across this article on my facebook feed today, and thought of you and the work you are doing here.

    • JohnMcTernan says:

Have you been treated with Vitamin D3 for the MS?
Please check my God’s Health System blog, because I believe I just posted on the correlation between low Vit D3 and MS.
If found this but I think there are more. See:
Most of the doctors refuse to look into natural help, and I highly suggest that you search on your own.
I would also begin a regiment of probiotics, as so many diseases stem the intestines.
If you are interested in the probiotics please let me know.
Would everyone please pray for Lisa that God would touch and help her as she seeks Him and what His health system can do.
      God bless you

  21. Tim Shey says:

Back in 1985, I was on some medication for about a year: lithium and an anti-psychotic. I had been diagnosed as manic-depressive. I knew that it was a spiritual problem much more than a chemical problem. I finally cried out to the Lord to heal me and I was healed in January of 1986. Praise the Lord! Glory to God in the Highest! The Lord saves and the Lord heals!

“What Can’t Kill You Will Only Make You Stronger”

  22. Tim Shey says:

I just wanted to add something to what I wrote above. My healing began in January of 1986; I gradually got off of my medication over the next couple of months. I got off of my medication in March of 1986. I am so grateful that the Lord healed me of manic-depression (demonic bondage). With His stripes we are healed!

  23. B. Ross says:

Alaska is now facing the wrath of God. Somehow I believe this may cause more harm than one may expect, especially if this continues for an extended period of time.

  24. Lisa says:

I tried to reply earlier, but it must not have gone through. My neurologist actually put me on Vitamin D3 about a year ago…the very appointment I was going to ask him about it, he brought it up before I could! One of the many reasons I value his opinion–he’s not afraid of solutions that don’t include medication. He started me on 200IU, and I went up to 4000IU on my own, but I’m wondering now after reading the above article and others if I should probably kick that up higher. I am on probiotics that my husband gets. I am taking Copaxone injections because without them, I relapse very often. However, recently I have still been relapsing more than my doc would like to see, so he wanted me to think about taking Abagio. Everything was all set to go, and while waiting for insurance to approve it, I did my research and found some things I did not like about it, so I prayed about it. I kept coming up with unsettled feelings, so I called my doctor and told him to cancel the order for Abagio…instantly a weight was lifted off of me. Because Copaxone has been becoming less effective, I did some research and recently decided to cut out gluten, casein, soy, processed and fake sugars out of my diet. I basically eat meat, veggies, fruits, and nuts. It’s been almost 2 weeks, and I’m already feeling a difference. Upon further research, I realized that I had been having symptoms of leaky gut, which are already completely gone. There are some residual “in-between-relapse” symptoms that are just always there, that have improved as well, since I started the diet.

Thank you, John, for the info and prayers, and to anyone else who is praying, I am so grateful!

    • JohnMcTernan says:

Wow, I was so delighted to read what you are doing.
You are correct about the Vit D3, you can up it to 6-8,000 range.
What you are doing is treating your flora, which now is being identified as the source of autoimmune diseases.
You hit the nail on the head with the leaky gut!
You are now giving your body a chance to recover.
I would immediately add cold pressed olive oil and especially coconut oil to your diet.
These oils do wonders for your health.
Please keep us posted about how your health is improving.
      God bless you.

  25. Eliruth says:

Yes, drug use is pandemic, and the Gov’t. imprisons many thousands of able-
bodied men because of it. America is far down the road to destruction. Yet
look how Israel is prospering but faces her greatest Tribulations.
Keep Looking UP–our “Blessed Hope” is nearer than ever!! Amen.

  26. Someone Else says:

Forgive me, I am not familiar with your radio show, but happened upon this website due to mutual interests.

Lisa, please be very careful if you choose to come off the Wellbutrin. I was improperly weaned off it, and it resulted in hypo-mania, which was then misdiagnosed (according to the DSM) as manic depressive (bipolar) disorder. So please make sure you’re slowly weaned off it.

And Pamela, thank you for that beautiful prayer. It was so appropriate for me. I’m trying to come to grips with what to do regarding forgiving some people I have written proof defamed the Holy Spirit (that’s the only unforgivable sin in the bible). And my pastor agreed with me, it’s not my right to forgive such.

I do have a question, John. What would you do if you learned that the son you love to the ends of the earth, who just graduated as valedictorian of his class, was gay? And you have the medical proof that this may be due to the fact a pastor within your former religion helped to cover up the child abuse of him due to a friendship with the alleged child molesters? And the head of my ex-religion didn’t choose to help me, because he didn’t “want to pay” me? I didn’t ask for payment, I asked for help (but my family had given and helped to make millions for the religion through cash donations and volunteer services). Even the religions have gone off worshipping only money and Satan. A must happen?

But, Tim, I too thank God for healing me from what was a drug induced, or completely iatrogenic, “bipolar.” And am trying to spread the word to Christians, because I’ve learned that the exact way in which I had “bipolar” created, has happened to over a million American children. This breaks my heart. Please read all 7 or so pages of this:

I, too, know not what to do, but to pray for Jesus’ timely return. I am happy to give you more resources that support my concerns, upon request.

    My best to all.

    • JohnMcTernan says:

We watched all four of our children like hawks. We home schooled them and prayed over them.
If we did not have peace from God, they did not go any where.
In response to your question, I would apologize to my son for not watching over him.
Homosexual acts like that are dehumanizing and breaks the heart of the child.
I would bring him before the Lord in prayer and ask God to heal his broken heart.
I would then pray over him that the Holy Spirit would mortify the sin of homosexuality that gripped him.
This sin is a living force that needs to be put to death by God’s Holy Spirit.
We would pray and call on the Holy Spirit until the power of this sin was drained out of him.

      This is spiritual warfare
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Part of my ministry is to pray for the healing of the brokenhearted and to be set free from the law sin and death which homosexuality falls under.
I have prayed for people in this Comment Section and they were set free.
If you need prayer email me at [email protected]
      God bless you.
