I feel deeply sick on this decision. I feel like America is lost forever.

  2. Gary B says:

Well, this is it. That day is here. You reap what you sow. Look out America.

  3. Jeanne Ward says:

“Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves” Romans 1:24

  4. Todd says:

The “church” must get completely out of Caesar’s Marriage business…

  5. Irene C says:

I was composing my response to this decision about the same time this blog was being posted, so my original comment is on Brother John’s previous WW3 post. Any who are interested is seeing it can read it there. But the one verse I will repeat here is the first verse that came to my mind as I read the news this morning.

Habakkuk 3:2 – O Lord, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.

As many are rejoicing at the decision, I grieve for our nation. Our nation is dead but the people just don’t realize it yet. Maybe they never will until the time our nation no longer exists. The time to preach the Gospel is coming to an end and soon we will be going Home. Now that will be a day of rejoicing.

    God Bless and Maranatha

  6. Melany says:

Although I was expecting this,….when I heard it, I put my head down and cried.

  7. Danielle says:

Ditto to Susan & Gary … A friend also posted this morning ..” Today is the 9th of Tammuz on the Hebrew Calendar! On this day in history The Babylonian armies of King Nebuchadnezzar breached the walls of Jerusalem. This day the Walls of America have been breached and judgment is on the horizon!”
Tried to tell my neighbor about how this decision will be so wrong for America, and how bad things will be now, how judgment is coming, etc. She was polite, but I could tell it went right over her head …( I got the usual insane response.) We are not responsible for their decisions not to believe , only to tell them the Truth, but still , it makes you sad. Part of me is sooo happy that we will see Him soon, and we can all be together at last. The other part wants everyone to hear His voice, repent, obey, and come with us. I am pretty emotional right now … I just have no words … except His. Abba Father , we are crying out to You …

  8. Mrs. CJB says:

I am deeply sickened by what the Supreme Court did today.”Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.” Romans 1:22.

  9. Maria says:

I feel the same way Gary….America just don’t realize what they’ve done! May the Lord have MERCY on us!!!

  10. Roy Tubbs says:

We knew this was going to happen because it seems most of the so called christians are silent and have buried their heads in the sand. I have been preaching that the church has gone to sleep since around 1986-7 and it’s getting worse by the day. The churches as a whole is dead, no Spirit, just flesh preaching and believing. God is surely coming soon for the true belevers but in the meantime we will have to let our lights shine for the Kingdom of God. When gross darkness covers the people then His Glory shall be seen upon us. Amen! Glory to His Name.

  11. Dan.w says:

Now is the time to draw near to the Lord.

  12. Dan.w says:

The ‘evil one’cannot kill God,so the next best thing is to go after His kid’s..us.Just want all of you to be aware,we are on the devil’s radar. He wants to shut us up.This is a Jesus sized job.Let us trust Him fully.God bless you all,Dan.w

  13. Terry says:

I feel deep grief , and at the same time judgement looming. God is righteous , and I pray for mercy on His children.

  14. I will pray. But I just have to point out something. While I read this I see the rainbow colors lighted on the white house on HDTV from the news. Yikes. Do you remember the gospel reads It will be like the days of Noah.

So. It is amazing that the LGBT group picked a “Gay” symbol the rainbow which is an original sign from God. It represents the promise to God to Noah. I think God has a sense of humor with a signal to us believers. I think God is telling us we have gone to a point of no return nationally. The White House represents our nation which is covered in Rainbow colors. This is like an ultimatum set in stone already. I think the next revival will happen during a war.

36“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,f but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

42“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

  15. Matt says:

Today is a spiritual 9-11. God have mercy on us.

As of 7:20 PM, pacific time, there is a severe thunderstorm flash flood watch, 2 AM Saturday to 2 AM Sunday, heading directly to Washington DC.

  16. Gary Canant says:

Sounds like reading 1st or 2nd Kings!
“And he reigned seven years and did that which was wicked in the sight of God”

  17. Dom says:

The White House is officially lit up in rainbow colors Friday evening. Talk about Obama shaking his fist at God! He’s asking for this…

  18. Jim Ohneck says:

Repent and see THE FATHER’S deliverance IN CHRIST be bold IN THE HOLY SPIRIT as we hold HIS RIGHTNESS HIGH…FATHER HELP us.

  19. Catherine says:

I feel doom in my spirit. I feel worse today than I did when Obama was re-elected. I spoke to my husband and he feels a deep disturbance in his spirit, too. He said he feels like a death has occurred. I think it is the death of America. God help us.

  20. Sonya J. says:

All these UGLY things have to happen according to Scripture. America WILL be humbled and it won’t be fun. Where do YOU stand when it comes to Jesus Christ and His teaching. One day it will be too late to decide and believe……..at least read the Bible and see what is in it. Start with Proverbs and see the wisdom and direction on how to live and love. If you read it, you will have to agree that what it says makes a ton of sense.

  21. Lori says:

This has been a sad and stressful day, I’m heartbroken over the Supreme Court decision today. I’ve been called names and mocked so much today for making a comment on the MSN article that was up today for Same Sex Marriage, that’s a mockery in itself. I said the few words of “This nation has become morally bankrupt” , that’s all, just six words to get these people riled up! Not to mention people on my Facebook page. My husband thought it would make things better now that these people got their way, and I said “not at all, this will only embolden them all the more”. I pray that the country would heed these words from the bible:

2 Chronicles 7:14King James Version (KJV)

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

  22. John Todd says:

My heart is broken that my beloved country America has fallen. Jesus my Creator and Savior is in my heart, in my every thought and verbally praised throughout the day. This should move all Christians as close to Jesus as possible and cause us to bring the Saviors saving grace to as many as we can.

  23. William's Wife says:

Grieving today. Christian Mothers and Fathers, be in your proper places. No one else will teach your little ones God’s design for the family.

  24. Henry w says:

Well as I sit here looking and listening to all the heavy rains here in Md it just seems to me as well that we have reached a point of no return.god have mercy on their souls

  25. Gary says:

God showed me four words tonight about this decision.

    Mene, mene, tekel, upharsin

I believe this says it all.

  26. John says:

Someone posted earlier that the Church went to sleep around 1986-87. I would say earlier than that with Roe V Wade but then again even earlier when prayer was taken out of the schools by essentially one woman.

  27. Lori says:

After reading everyone’s comments so far, I can see that we all seem to have that deep sadness and grieving in our hearts for our once great nation. Thank you Lord that I had a mother that raised me to know Jesus and have a healthy fear of God. Amen

  28. Norman, UK says:

“Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.”

‘Although my house be not so with God’ – poignant words. A UK prayer group for Israel reports the same sad trends in America and elsewhere are also in evidence in Israel. How David’s sorrow for his house still resonates! But there will come a day when a fountain will be opened for the House of David….(Zech 12/13). We know that same fountain is still open to us, as first-fruits in Christ. The Church is a mystery, largely eclipsed by Mystery Babylon. Those days are coming to an end… awesome times are afoot.

Also, here is a tract written 150 years ago, which is full of comfort amidst sorrow. It is called ‘The Morning Without Clouds’. It’s author could only see dimly what we now see. http://www.biblebb.com/files/ryle/morning_without_clouds.htm

  29. Mary E. says:

    Psalms 2:1-2
Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against His Anointed One.
“Let us break their chains”, they say, “and throw off their fetters”.
The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.
Then he rebukes them in His anger and terrifies them in His wrath, saying, “I have installed my King on Zion, my Holy Hill”.

This scripture was quoted by the believers in Acts 4:23-26 after Peter and John were seized by the Sanhedrin, then released, for healing a crippled beggar. To save space, I would encourage all to read the ” Believers Prayer”, Acts 4:23-31, as it gives us the answer (and results) as to how we are to pray, now that this Nation has officially turned it’s back on God. Acts 4 encourages believers to pray for boldness, when the “rulers and kings” rise up to shut us down. The result will be signs of healing, miraculous signs and wonders. I believe, despite the horrendous rulings that have come down, we, the bride of Jesus, are about to see our finest moment.

  30. William's Wife says:

We all seem to sense in our spirits that this marks the end of something, and also the beginning of something very terrible. What a dark time and place this is. Am I the only one who is so sad for the persecution our children will face in their lifetime? I mean more than hostility and marginalization, but very real suffering for Christ.

  31. Norman, UK says:

“It is time for thee, Lord, to work: for they have made void thy law” Ps 119:126.

How strange that this beautiful Psalm ends with: “I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord; and thy law is my delight. Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee; and let thy judgments help me. I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I do not forget thy commandments.” Is this the voice of the priestly identification, before the throne of grace? (Cf Hebrews 5:1-5; Romans 2).

“For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity. And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins”.

Who knows when that day of grace will end? All the signs are that it must be soon. Ps 119 is fulfilled in our great High Priest, in whom we function as his body on earth, and along with the Sermon on the Mount, is a good meditation for personal revival. ‘Let thine hand help me, for I have chosen thy precepts’ (v.173). Thank God for the helping hand of the Holy Spirit!

  32. Gary G says:

the translation of mene, mene, tekel upharsin is not complete here…
mene- your kingdom is coming to an end
tekel- you have been weighed and the balances and found wanting
upharsin, your kingdom will be divided (by the Persians and Medes)

is this a warning to us, except the russians and chinese

  33. Sharon says:

A sad day for America! It is a day of mourning and weeping!! America has officially become the reincarnation of Sodom and Gemorrah!! Prepare for the outcome which has already begun!!

  34. Ruth says:

I, too, have been mourning the actual pronouncement, even though, in my spirit, it was expected. When I heard it officially, I experienced a deep grief, and the only thing I wanted to do was pray with other believers. I have appreciated so much the wonderful times of prayer on this website and know that, Lord willing, there will be more. However, there is a sadness that I still don’t hear a call for congregational prayer in the born again churches. Forgive me if it’s not true in your case. I just don’t see it or hear it being announced. Shouldn’t we be turned around in our pews and on our knees in our services or, better yet, on our faces? Is this too radical to expect? Are we not careening pell mell toward the Tribulation hour? I know believers will be gone before that; but until then, what can we hope to accomplish without a great outpouring of repentance and spirit led prayer? Jesus said that “men ought always to pray and not to faint.” (Luke 18:1) I know that persecution will drive many churches to prayer, but why wait for that? Time is of the essence. There seems to be a self-inflicted blindness on many Christians. Maybe they just can’t bear to believe how bad things are. I get the feeling that many are in deep denial. Let’s pray for that call to prayer.

  35. Irene C says:

    Luke 12:53
The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

I was wasting a little time this afternoon while waiting for my laundry to dry so I decided to scroll through my Facebook timeline to see what was going on. I expected the jubilation of the friends who aren’t saved, but then I saw that my daughter, who is an adult, changed her profile picture. It’s her face shaded with a rainbow. I was heartbroken. I had been reading other posts about family members not talking to each other and friends unfriending other people, but I wasn’t ready to be slapped in the face with this. I turned Facebook off and cried. And I”m sure we will see more of this happen. The enemy is rejoicing that he is further tearing families apart.

    Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

I’m ready to go Home. Maranatha

  36. Barbara in VA says:

Thank each one of you who has posted on this subject. Right now I am just too overcome for the right words, but you have helped lift me above the sadness that I am feeling. I have some extreme concerns for my son-in-law who pastors a small church here in VA. He has not been there very long and I’m not sure he knows the people well enough yet to know how they will want to go with this. I’m praying that he is strong enough to face whatever happens should there be any question about standing on God’s Word!! I do know how my daughter feels about the subject and pray for their continued faithfulness to our precious Savior and King!

Thank you Mary E. for directing us to the scriptures that will be so helpful right now. And also to Norman for your words of encouragement!

Today’s verse from Bible Gateway is a good one for this time:
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
    2 Peter 3:9 KJV

  37. Tom says:

Friday SCOTUS rules on Gayle marriage, Monday Greece closes it’s banks and an economic meltdown escalates that will impact Europe, the US and the world. We cannot poo poo this action in light of what the courts just did by defying God.

  38. Louise says:

I very confused…Did you hear Obama singing Amazing Grace at that funeral??…”You shall know them by their fruits”

  39. Mary E. says:

I heard it Louise. And then he began to “preach”, making a mockery of Gods word. I had to turn it off.

Barbara, I will be praying for your son-in-law and daughter.

  40. Andrew (Australia) says:

Have we missed something here? I am not sure? What if the ‘falling away’ in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 is related to a twisted representation of Jesus and His Bride? Satan loves to take what is Holy and make it unclean and claim it as his own. I wrote this on facebook a couple of weeks ago:
“Here’s why I see the marriage debate as important: God intended marriage to be between a man and woman – this is His natural order – but, it is also a spiritual representation of the Trilogy, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, a spiritual bond and union – it is also a spiritual representation of Jesus, (the Bridegroom), and the His people, (the Bride)’ – there is more to the physical union that meets the eye, it has a spiritual component as well – this is why marriage is important to me…..~ Satan hates God’s natural order – Satan hates marriage and all it represents – he wants to destroy it – same-sex marriage represents the anti-Christ union – same-sex marriage represents Satan and his people. Those who worship Baal, (Satan), kiss the idols anus – this is considered the highest form of worship – this worship unlocks all the deprived passions of the sinful nature – so as all these people around the world shout with joy in agreement with same-sex marriage, they worship Baal/Satan and my heart breaks because whether they realise it or not, they are bringing in the most terrible time in history, never seen before and never to be seen again! Jesus Christ is the Ark, repent and be saved from what is coming and enter into eternal life! ….before it is too late!!”
What if this same-sex marriage issue is a sign to us that the anti-Christ is very close to being revealed? It is like a ‘consummation’ of Satan and His followers, his ‘church’ worldwide, (this is not just an American issue).
Paul says in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 “…falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition”, so, the falling away comes first then the anti-Christ!

    Perilous days! God Bless!

  41. Andrew (Australia) says:

*Sorry…that should be ‘Trinity’ not ‘trilogy’ in my last post.

  42. Ruth says:

Irene C. , I will pray for your daughter. Psalm 65:2 and 5 Don’t give up on her. We know God hears and answers.

  43. Tom says:

If the situation wasn’t so critical to our nation,I would have said something like, “Keep you day job POTUS”, but the man is a wolf in sheep clothing and an instrument of Satan. I do pray for him as we are supposed to as Paul says but this man has destroyed more in his two terms than any 8 Presidents in two terms. Our pastor said yesterday that Israel had 43 Kings, and the US has had 43 Presidents and there is a frightening and fascinating parallel here. God has risen him up to be judgement on our nation. He has given the people what they wanted.

  44. Norman, UK says:

Interesting comment Andrew. I too sense there is more to this than meets the eye – the way it has rapidly fallen into place across the Judeo-Christian world.
I believe a pivotal statement is made by Paul in Acts 17: “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
Friends, please note the context: Athens was the cultural centre of the day: and what did Paul find? A city wholly given over to idolatry! And what was the outcome, when he preached to them? Mostly, they mocked!
Perhaps it is no coincidence that at the end of Solomon’s incredibly opulent reign, idolatry abounded as a result of his compromise through his 700 foreign wives with all the gods of the surrounding nations. This meant all sorts of unclean practices were at least tacitly consented to in Israel, with the result that God judged him, and the kingdom was divided. He contravened the law of Moses in a number of crucial respects, and I understand Jewish writers were far more negative about Solomon than we are. We think of him as a ‘type’ of Christ, but he is also an antitype. The number 666 crops up in relation to him, and although he began well, he ended up violating God’s Law for the sake of trade, political expediency and power. He was also hard on his subjects: wisdom, antitype, lawlessness, idolatry, oppression, reigning in Jerusalem – there are also other parallels (see Dan 11:36-37).
Enlightenment, blessing, wealth, spiritual falling away from God (he becomes ‘the Unknown God’!), idolatry, depravity, judgement (Rom 1). Who else once fell from such heights? This is only a pattern, a typology for our instruction, not a doctrine. It does not mean Solomon was himself anything other than what we know of him in the Bible. I hope he will find mercy in God, as his father David did. But it is a shocking illustration, and a salutary warning, of where our fallen human nature leads us, apart from Christ our Saviour. How lovely to be found in Him!
James was right when he said the poor of this world are rich in faith; and as Jesus taught, ‘Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven’. He rode in to Jerusalem on a donkey, but he will return from heaven on a white horse, with ten thousands of his saints(Rev 19; Jude14 – in fact all of Jude is quite topical, and in a few words, tells us where we are, and what we should be about!)
Thank you Lord, for all you have done to save us, and revealed to us through your word. Amen

  45. Mary E. says:

Andrew, interesting points. Thanks for insight.
Tom, very interesting about the 43 Kings and 43 Presidents.

I listened to Pastor J.D. Faraq’s comments, in his weekly Prophecy Update, on his You Tube channel. He addressed the feelings of sadness, grief, anger, etc. that believers were experiencing at this moment. He suggested reading Psalm 73, as the writer speaks of the same emotions in great detail. In v. 16, the writer says, “when I tried to understand all this, ( the wicked seeming to live in victory) it was oppressive to me until I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny.”
As believers, we know our final destination, the world does not.

  46. Melany says:

(( Irene C. )) ~ I’m praying for your daughter also,… Many of us are going through similar situations. Our Abba heals & restores, and sets the captives free. I’m agreeing in prayer with you and Ruth. – With love….

  47. Denise in MI says:

Irene, I feel for you. Don’t let it get you down. Seems like everyone is pandering to the LGBT community now, hungry for their approval, afraid to be called a bigot.

I’m sure SCOTUS knew how this would divide us, even in our families. I have a reunion coming up and I plan on talking about the weather.lol

  48. Ruth says:

Melany, thank you that we all can agree for Irene’s daughter. It’s exciting to know He is in our midst as we by faith gather together to intercede. Your sister-in-Christ

  49. Norman, UK says:

We could justly enquire what idols people worship today? They do not seem to be the same as those referred to in Romans 1, which lead to man being given over by God to unclean ways. And what was the apostle John referring to, when he finished one of his letters with: ‘Little children, keep yourselves from idols.’ It was clearer then than it is now, unless we are speaking of parts of the world where people still worship such objects. Even the enlightened Israelites, after all they had seen of the True and Faithful God, were prone to falling back into idolatry – golden calves, and worse! What is that principle in fallen man that goes after such things? However it manifests, it always leads to evil, and often the very same things as the ancient abominations were associated with.

Having said all this, it is always as well for us to remember that in dealing with individuals, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities (demonic forces) in heavenly places. I hope none of us would ever ostracize, mistreat or rail at anyone. I know from privileged experience that it is possible to influence grievously lost souls by simply being as Christ to them: i.e. being non-judgemental but standing firm in the truth; and willing to show redemptive love (Cf Jude 21-23).

It is however a very different thing we are now dealing with, which is a wholesale endorsement of a perverse interpretation of marriage, and that by law! And to add insult to injury, at a time when many choose to cohabit rather than marry in lifelong commitment. And the children – Oh the children – that’s where it gets really serious. Civilized governments are now, in effect actively promoting this – which seems unbelievable, and all within a generation. It surely is a sign of the times!

To return to my question, though – what idols? They are more shadowy now. Simply denying the Creator (not liking to retain God in one’s knowledge) is perhaps all it takes, to arrive at a place where one worships the creation more than the Creator.Well did Isaac Watts’ hymn declare:
‘Were the whole realm of nature mine,
    That were an offering far to small;
    Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all!
