Forecast for spring: Nasty drought worsens for much of US
Verse of the Day
Psalm 107:33,34 He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground; A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
WORSENING DROUGHT IN AMERICA
“With nearly two-thirds of the United States abnormally dry or worse, the government’s spring forecast offers little hope for relief, especially in the West where a devastating megadrought has taken root and worsened.
Weather service and agriculture officials warned of possible water use cutbacks in California and the Southwest, increased wildfires, low levels in key reservoirs such as Lake Mead and Lake Powell and damage to wheat crops.”
WORLD WAR 3
“A top U.S. admiral warned lawmakers Tuesday that the possibility of China attempting to invade and annex Taiwan is a “critical concern” and could happen sooner than most people think.
Adm. John Aquilino, currently the commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, was responding to questions from Republican Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee to become head of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command.”
“A reconnaissance aircraft operated by the USAF made the closest-ever flight on China’s coast on Monday, coming within 25.33 nautical miles, according to South China Sea Strategic Situation Probing Initiative (SCSPI), a think tank based in Beijing.
SCSPI said the USAF Boeing RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft flew closer to China’s coast than ever before. The intelligence-gathering plane entered the South China Sea on Monday through the Bashi Channel to conduct reconnaissance operations on China’s southern coastal regions, the think tank said.”
HARD LEFT DEMONIZING JEWS
““[T]he Left disguises their destructive attempts to cancel those whom they disagree with as merely ‘holding people accountable,’ because they’re too afraid of being held accountable for bullying people into silence. They easily weaponize ‘cancel culture’ against Jews, by touting the age-old tropes we have been dealing with for years — that we are all greedy and privileged, except this time, we’re considered White,” Murray told The Western Journal.
“That’s why Jews are not considered high enough on the totem-pole of intersectionality to receive the victimhood status awarded to other minority groups. Today, Jews are hated for their nation state, and are labeled as right-wing ‘white supremacists’ unless they disavow Israel and shed their Zionism, which for most Jews is a major component of their faith,” Murray continued.”
BIBLICAL ARCHAEOLOGY NEWS
“Discoveries have come to light that could prove the Hebrew prophet Jeremiah was a historical figure, according to a scripture expert who believes the Bible stands up to “the keenest of scrutiny”.
The discovery of an ancient seal in the City of David, Jerusalem, has been put forward as proof of the Bible’s historicity. Although most people look to the Bible as a source of spiritual guidance, some see within its pages a source of historical information about the Holy Land and its people. The Old Testament, in particular, documents the history of the Israelites, from the Exodus out of Egypt to the Conquest of Canaan and the siege of Jerusalem in 597 BC.”
ISRAEL; MIDDLE EAST WAR
“In the shadow of the IDF warnings of a possible attack coming from Iran and its proxies in the region, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) completed on Monday a series of successful live firing trials of the Barak Air Defense System.
The company said that the trials tested the system’s capabilities in a range of scenarios and threats, including the interception of an assaulting ballistic target by the Barak ER (extended range) interceptor.”
ATTACK ON CHRISTIANITY
“Oral Roberts, which has already upset Ohio State and Florida, is definitely not the feel-good March Madness story we need, writes Hemal Jhaveri, the “race and inclusion editor.” (Yeah, that’s a job, apparently.) She admits the evangelical university from Tulsa is a fan favorite as an underdog, but she detests its strict student requirements. ORU’s “deeply bigoted anti-LGBTQ+ polices can’t and shouldn’t be ignored,” Jhaveri writes in a despicable screed. (In above photo, Coach Paul Mills and team prepare for prayer after beating Florida).
That’s just the opening salvo of a long bombardment on ORU and a call for the NCAA to ban the school. Headed for the Sweet 16 in the tournament this coming weekend, Oral Roberts is pummeled for its fundamentalist values and beliefs. It’s “a relic of the past” and completely incompatible with the NCAA’s values of equality and inclusion.”
HARD LEFT INSANITY
“Officials with the Arizona Department of Education have launched an internal review following revelations its staffers promoted an “equity” toolkit with content suggesting babies as young as 3-months-old can be racist.
News of the toolkit was first reported by Christopher Rufo, a writer for City Journal and director of the Center on Wealth and Poverty at the Discovery Institute. What Was in the Toolkit? Rufo took a series of screenshots from the toolkit, one of which is titled, “They’re not too young to talk about race!” A link to that source is still up on the state’s Department of Education website.
The paper also reportedly cited a study claiming, “At birth, babies look equally at faces of all races. At 3 months, babies look more at faces that match the raise of their caregivers.”
PRO LIFE NEWS
“On Sunday, the Republican governor defended his action in an interview with CNN. “That was the whole design of the law. It is not constitutional under Supreme Court cases right now,” Hutchinson said on CNN’s State of the Union. “… And so I signed it because it is a direct challenge to Roe vs. Wade – that was the intent of it. I think there’s a very narrow chance that the Supreme Court will accept that case but we’ll see.”
Hutchinson said he would have preferred if the law had included exceptions for victims of rape and incest, but he signed it anyway to be a direct challenge to Supreme Court abortion rulings. The Arkansas Unborn Child Protection Act (Senate Bill 6) passed the state legislature by a strong majority earlier this year. If enacted, the bill would ban all abortions in the state. The only exceptions would be if the mother’s life or health are at risk. Abortionists who violate the ban would face up to 10 years in prison. Women would not be punished.”
