Commentary

The Hard Left is showing its true face for the world to see at the Democratic National Convention. There were Soviet and Palestinian flags flying, but until yesterday, no US flags; although eventually some photos of a US flag were publicized (possibly in response to the outcry raised over the lack of them) they were far outnumbered by the others. There also have been many photos of anti-Israel signs and burning of both Israeli and American flags.

While Trump had a huge surge in popularity at the conclusion of the Republican convention and mainstream pundits predicted the same would hold true for Hillary, this has not been the case. Between the scandals that have broken by the WikiLeaks release of 20,000 Democratic emails, the near riots by Sanders supporters who felt cheated, the removal of party Chairwoman Debbie Wassernman, the documentary about Clinton foundation cash and the growing distrust of Hillary, the Democratic party seems to be coming apart.

Remember 2012, when Democrats at their convention voted to remove all mention of God from their platform? Could this be coming back to haunt them? They won’t see any connection because of the blindness of the reprobate mind, but God’s word does refer to just such repercussions.

Palestinian and Soviet flags outnumbered US flags at the DNC

Old Glory’s Old News To The New Democrats As The Palestinian Flag Flies At The DNC 07/25/16  This shows the true face of the hard left and where the Democratic Party rapidly is going. As a party they are soundly against Israel, although that isn’t true of every member, naturally. But this wasn’t the only flag being flown at the DNC.

Another article “DNC Convention 2016: Soviet Flags, Palestinian Flag – BUT NO US FLAGS” has mostly pictures but it shows even more clearly the hard left face of the Democratic Party. “The Democrat Convention kicked off Monday in Philadelphia. The far left Bernie supporters marched with Soviet flags down the street.“

“The flag of pan-Arab nationalism, born out of violent rebellion and struggle (or jihad), was flown today on the floor of the Democratic National Convention. What it means that the flag of “Palestine” can be spotted in Philadelphia, with not an Old Glory in sight, is that the Democratic Party of America is taking a hard-left turn.
Bernie Sanders delegate Ali Akın Kurnaz is being credited on Twitter with raising the flag which represents a violent struggle against the only functioning democracy in the region, Israel. This is the only reasonable interpretation of what hard-left activists attempt to dress up in the garbs of “human rights” and “self-determination”…
Earlier today, a Democratic member of the House Armed Services Committee compared Jewish Israeli settlers to termites, according to the Free Beacon.
Rep. Hank Johnson (D., Ga) said: “There has been a steady [stream], almost like termites can get into a residence and eat before you know that you’ve been eaten up and you fall in on yourself, there has been settlement activity that has marched forward with impunity and at an ever increasing rate to the point where it has become alarming,”
This comes at the same time that delegates and protesters demanded the removal of the Confederate flag flag of the State of Mississippi for representing “oppression”. This is a state with a population that is at least 40 per cent black. And they don’t seem to have a huge problem with it. In fact, you might interpret pride in the state flag as a microscopic version of nationalism. For Palestinians and anti-Semitic Arabs such things are fine. For proud Americans, it is oppression.”

Sanders Supporters Burn American, Israeli Flags While Bill Clinton Speaks [VIDEO] 07/27/16  Notice how they burned both American and Israeli flags? What we’re seeing is a coming together of the movements on the left such as Black Lives Matter, the hard left communist element and pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel factions into a coalition, much as the left in Europe has embraced.

“Supporters of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders had no interest in hearing former President Bill Clinton speak at the Democratic National Convention — they were too busy protesting in the streets surrounding the Wells Fargo Arena. While demonstrating against the nomination of Hillary Clinton as the Democratic Party’s nominee, Sanders supporters took to burning the American flag in the street.
They also burned an Israeli flag.
Then they burned Sanders signs.
Police were left to clean up the mess.”

Democratic Congressman Compares Jews Living in West Bank, Eastern Jerusalem to ‘Termites’ 07/26/16  As the Democrats continue to move farther to the left, they increasingly adopt policies and make statements that bring them into conflict with the God of Israel, and with everything else that believers see as basic values. They’re bringing trouble onto themselves; we need to pray that the country doesn’t blindly accept all of this and elect Hillary just because she carries a previously-known brand – the “Democrat” label.

“The Democrats continue to have an Israel problem.
On the sidelines of the Democratic National Convention here, Georgia Democratic Rep. Hank Johnson reportedly compared Israeli settlers – meaning Jews living in the West Bank or eastern Jerusalem – to termites.
Speaking at a Philadelphia meeting of the US Campaign to end the Israeli Occupation, a group that supports the boycott movement targeting Israel, Johnson made the offensive remarks.
He complained that “there has been a steady [stream], almost like termites can get into a residence and eat before you know that you’ve been eaten up and you fall in on yourself, there has been settlement activity that has marched forward with impunity and at an ever increasing rate to the point where it has become alarming.”
“It has come to the point that occupation, with highways that cut through Palestinian land, with walls that go up, with the inability or the restriction, with the illegality of Palestinians being able to travel on those roads and those roads cutting off Palestinian neighborhoods from each other,” Johnson continued.
“And then with the building of walls and the building of checkpoints that restrict movement of Palestinians. We’ve gotten to the point where the thought of a Palestinian homeland gets further and further removed from reality.”
The Anti-Defamation League reacted on Twitter by calling for Johnson to retract his “offensive, unhelpful characterization.”

CHURCH WAS ON ISIS HIT LIST Catholic church where priest was murdered was among several targets found on suspected jihadi arrested last year 07/26/16  As we’ve been reporting, Europe is falling into chaos after admitting millions of Muslim “refugees” in the last year. This attack took place in France, where an elderly priest was beheaded while performing mass, Nuns were taken hostage and one now is fighting for her life. What’s especially troubling, but not surprising, is that French authorities have found evidence that ISIS has begun targeting churches.

“THE CHURCH where a priest was murdered by Islamist knifemen was on a ‘hit list’ found on an alleged ISIS terrorist arrested last year. Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray was one of a number of Catholic churches singled out for attacks by the terror group.
Sid Ahmed Ghlam, 24, was arrested in April 2015 after he called an ambulance in Paris after shooting himself in the leg.
Father Jacques Hamel, 86, was murdered at the altar by two fanatics earlier today while holding a morning service.
He was reportedly beheaded by the knifemen who took two nuns and several worshippers hostage at the church in northern France before being shot dead by police.
Another hostage is said to be ‘fighting for their life’.
Investigators believe he was a terrorist planning ‘imminent attacks’ in France on the instructions of ISIS leaders.
Investigators found an arsenal of weapons in Ghlam’s car, which was parked nearby, and at his student accommodation.
It included Kalashnikovs, a police-issue pistol, and a number of bullet-proof vests.
Documents found at his flat and in a search of his computer and telephone, suggested Ghlam was in contact with a French speaker in Syria who had ordered him to carry out attacks on churches.”

ISIS claims to have shot down US military jet over Iraq killing all on board 97/25/16  Although the Pentagon denies ISIS’ claim, if such an incident did happen it could be the spark that ignites this volatile region. Therefore, it’s good that the Pentagon isn’t reporting any missing American aircraft. But this does show how precarious the situation is in the area.

“Amaq, a news agency that supports the terrorist organisation claimed ISIS shot down a plane flying near Ain Al-Asad air base in Anbar.
The agency also claimed both the pilot and crew were killed in the attack near the air base which is used by both Iraqi and US armed forces.
But the Pentagon denied any aircraft being shot down or reported missing.
A spokesman for the Pentagon, using the US acronym ISIL for the terror group, said: “There is no truth to reports of ISIL downing a US aircraft near Anbar.
“All US and coalition aircraft are accounted for at this time.”

We May Be at a Greater Risk of Nuclear Catastrophe Than During the Cold War 07/20/16  This article gives a good overview of the history of the nuclear threat, and then discusses policies today that are making conflict more likely, and what that means for all of us.

“Today, the danger of some sort of a nuclear catastrophe is greater than it was during the Cold War,” warns William Perry, “and most people are blissfully unaware of this danger.”
A former U.S. defense secretary from 1994 to 1997, Perry has been an inside player in the business of nuclear weapons for over 60 years. And his book, My Journey at the Nuclear Brink, is a sober read. It’s also a powerful counterpoint to NATO’s current European strategy, which envisions nuclear weapons as a deterrent to war: The purpose of nukes “is to prevent major war, not to wage wars,” argues the Alliance’s magazine, NATO Review.
But as Perry points out, it’s only by chance that the world has avoided a nuclear war — sometimes by nothing more than dumb luck — and, rather than enhancing our security, nukes “now endanger it.”
…It’s been 71 years since atomic bombs destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and humanity’s memory of those events has dimmed. But even were the entire world to read John Hersey’s Hiroshima, it would have little idea of what we face today.
The bombs that obliterated those cities were tiny by today’s standards, and comparing “Fat Man” and “Little Boy” — the incongruous names of the weapons that leveled both cities — to modern weapons stretches any analogy beyond the breaking point. If the Hiroshima bomb represented approximately 27 freight cars filled with TNT, a one-megaton warhead would require a train 300 miles long.

DNC sought to hide details of Clinton funding deal 07/26/16  More financial scandals linked to Hillary Clinton are hitting the news through the WikiLeaks release of 20,000 emails. This time it isn’t the Clinton Foundation, but campaign cash raised for Democratic candidates, most of which went to Hillary despite the supposed joint nature of the arrangement which was to distribute funds to state party candidates and others. What this is exposing further is the corrupt nature of Clinton and of party elites in general. For her, the ends justify the means – anything so that she can be president.

“Leaked emails show the Democratic National Committee scrambled this spring to conceal the details of a joint fundraising arrangement with Hillary Clinton that funneled money through state Democratic parties.
During the three-month period when the DNC was working to spin the situation, state parties kept less than one half of one percent of the $82 million raised through the arrangement — validating concerns raised by campaign finance watchdogs, state party allies and Bernie Sanders supporters.
The arrangement, called the Hillary Victory Fund, allowed the Clinton campaign to seek contributions of hundreds of thousands of dollars to attend extravagant fundraisers including a dinner at George Clooney’s house and a concert at Radio City Music Hall featuring Katy Perry and Elton John. That’s resulted in criticism for Clinton, who has made opposition to big money in politics a key plank in her campaign platform.
Clinton’s allies have responded publicly by arguing that the fund is raising big money to boost down-ballot Democratic candidates by helping the 40 state parties that are now participating in the fund.
But privately, officials at the DNC and on Clinton’s campaign worked to parry questions raised by reporters, as well as Sanders’ since-aborted campaign, about the distribution of the money, according to a cache of hacked emails made public late last week by WikiLeaks.
The emails, released the day before the opening of the Democratic National Convention here, exposed DNC staffers seemingly undermining Sanders’ insurgent campaign against Clinton. The leak hampered the convention’s mission of uniting the party by convincing fervent Sanders supporters to get behind Clinton. And the controversy forced the resignation of DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a close Clinton ally accused by Sanders backers of using the party apparatus to undermine them.”

Kerry: Air conditioners as big a threat as ISIS 97/23/16  This statement is just plain embarrassing and shows how delusional the hard left is. But this is the mindset of those in power within the Obama administration.

“Secretary of State John Kerry said in Vienna on Friday that air conditioners and refrigerators are as big of a threat to life as the threat of terrorism posed by groups like the Islamic State.
The Washington Examiner reported that Kerry was in Vienna to amend the 1987 Montreal Protocol that would phase out hydrofluorocarbons, or HFCs, from basic household and commercial appliances like air conditioners, refrigerators, and inhalers.
“As we were working together on the challenge of [ISIS] and terrorism,” Kerry said. “It’s hard for some people to grasp it, but what we–you–are doing here right now is of equal importance because it has the ability to literally save life on the planet itself.”
Kerry said that most of the substances banned in the Montreal Protocol have increased the use of HFCs and claimed that the coolant was thousands of times more potent than CO2. He added that the increase of HFCs has led to the trend of global climate change.”

New York State Ads in North Carolina Face Complaints 07/24/16  This shows the lengths to which the hard left will go to try and force its agenda on everyone. The fact that NY taxpayer funds actually were used to influence elections in North Carolina because of NY elites’ opposition to the bathroom bill is outrageous – and illegal.

“A former North Carolina Supreme Court judge has filed complaints with the U.S. Office of Special Counsel and a New York state ethics panel alleging that taxpayer-funded ads Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration has run in North Carolina violated the Hatch Act by interfering with the gubernatorial and legislative races in that state.
The commercials, which reference the state’s so-called transgender bathroom law, among policies by other states, “mention North Carolina and its leadership in a transparent attempt to criticize, interfere and affect the impending North Carolina elections,” according to the federal complaint filed by the retired judge, Robert F. Orr.
The Republican governor of North Carolina, Pat McCrory, is up for re-election this year, as is the state’s legislature. The Hatch Act prohibits federal, state and local employees from using their official authority to interfere with or influence the outcome of an election or nomination for office.
A spokesman for Mr. Cuomo, John P.L. Kelly, described the complaints as “frivolous” but didn’t address the allegation concerning any attempt to sway North Carolina’s elections.”
